The Quarantine is Over

We’ve been monitoring this guy for weeks now, since he seemed a little off when he came to us. However, the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with him medically or mentally, so we had to let him go. We’re still unsure of the decision. So here he is. Meet Michael “The Machine” Ahrens, intern number 3.

“Oh my my, I would be the last one to write this bio. Even though it is half way through the summer, here I go! For those of you who don’t know me, I am Michael. I live in Chesterfield and have three dogs: Bungee, Missy, and Bailey. So Callie, I know how you feel picking up dog ”poopy”. This fall I will be heading back to Bloomington, Indiana, along with CK’s son, to continue on my quest for my Marketing degree with a co-major in Technology at Indiana University. I actually enjoy working with tedious Excel documents and intense Access databases. Odd, I know. Next year I will be living with seven of my friends in two town homes attached by a wooden deck in the back. Sadly to say, as a potential math minor, that this is an equation for destruction, distraction, and massive disaster…

I am a music fanatic, and while I appreciate all types of music, there is a very limited range of music that I will actually give the time of day. I’m not going to say that I “love” Lil Wayne because I don’t want to fall in line with everyone else, but I’ll say that he is the jam. I do love Nas, my man Talib, Travis Barker & DJ AM, 90’s hip-hop (especially Tennessee by Arrested Development), and a lot of other rap/hip-hop that most of you have never heard or will hear (no offense, and I’m assuming there will be none taken).

I love soccer and baseball and was a state swimmer in high school. Oh, and did I mention that I can’t get enough MMA (mixed martial arts for all of you who don’t know)?! No matter if it is Pride, UFC, WEC, Strikeforce (which I attended at the Scottrade Center a few weekends ago), etc. If anyone wants to go in the clinch, I am game. Mike Brown caught ANOTHER break, and Dan “Hendo” Henderson will keep on rolling July 11th.

I did my senior project for high school at AB in the event marketing department shadowing Dave Campbell. I learned the workings of the department by sitting through conference calls and budget meetings, my favorite. I’ve also worked as a soccer coach, a busboy at a Mexican restaurant, and a shoe enthusiast/expert at Foot Locker.

Thanks, Machine. Peace to you too, friendo. But what exactly did you mean when you said “If anyone wants to go in the clinch, I am game.”? Was he challenging everyone to a fight?  Is it too late to get him back in quarantine? Note to self: be nice to Machine.
